Eat this, not that!

The rabbi called to his servant Herschel, “Herschel! Go to the marketplace and bring me back some good food!”

So Herschel went. And when he came back, he had wrapped in paper: tongue.

The next day the rabbi called to Herschel, “Herschel! Go to the marketplace and bring me back some bad food!”

So Herschel went. And when he came back, he had wrapped in paper: tongue.

“Why is it,” asked the rabbi, “that when I asked you to bring me good food, you brought me tongue and when I asked you to bring me bad food, you brought me tongue?”

Herschel replied, “When tongue is good, it is very good. But when it is bad, tongue is very bad!”

The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark…With the tongue we praise our Lord Father, and with it we curse men who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers this should not be. -James-

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the lips. -Solomon, Proverbs

How have you experienced “the tongue” this last week? Good or bad?
