 Practice

Logos (word) often in the writings of John refer to Jesus. I prefer to define this as the embodied word. Throughout the writings of 1 John we notice the importance of love and its demonstration (see 1 John 2: 11; 3:16-18; 4:7-17).

Toward the end of the week focus very specifically on 1 John 3:16-18: who is the person you need to demonstrate the practical love to this week? Take action: do what you believe God is calling you to do. It may be to take someone for a meal, respond to someone homeless, sit and listen to someone who is hurting and lonely. Pay attention to your environment: who needs a practical demonstration of God’s love.
