Psalm Readings February 1

There is a way of praying through the psalms every month. It is simple and easy to follow.

Pray five psalms a day.

Not all at once.

Morning, mid-morning, noon, afternoon (or supper), and night.

Divide the Psalm readings into 31 days.

So today looks like this.

Morning: Psalm 1

Mid-morning (10:00 am): Psalm 32

Noon: Psalm 63

Afternoon or supper: Psalm 94

Night (bedtime): Psalm 125

Do not merely read the psalms. Do not study them as an exegetical study. Do not write out inductive Bible study questions. Instead, merely offer them up as prayers.

The psalms were meant to be chanted and prayed. They formed the prayer-book of the Messiah and thus the prayer book of God’s people.

So try it! See how it goes for the month of February. Naturally you won’t get through them all since February is a shorter month. But that’s OK; you’ll have plenty of opportunities throughout the year to cover all 150 psalms in a month!
